BB Bake-n-Cook Classes ("we," "us," or "our") operates BB Bake-n-Cook Classes, a hybrid culinary education and retail platform offering online recorded courses, live interactive workshops, in-studio classes, and culinary tools.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our students, customers, and visitors ("Data Principals" or "you"). This Privacy Policy complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

By signing up for a course, purchasing a product, or attending a workshop, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We practice Data Minimization, collecting only the data necessary to deliver our culinary training and products.

1.1 Personal Identity & Contact Data

  • Collected When: You register for a course, sign up for a newsletter or buy a material from store.

  • Data Points: Name, Username, Billing Address, Shipping Address (for physical goods), Email Address, and Phone Number.

  • Purpose: To deliver goods (raw materials, tools, tackles, appliances), create your student account, and coordinate logistics.

1.2 Sensitive Personal Data (Health & Dietary)

  • Collected When: You register for an In-Studio workshop or fill out a student profile.

  • Data Points: Food allergies (e.g., nuts, shellfish, dairy), dietary restrictions (e.g., Vegan, Gluten-Free, Halal, Kosher), and specific health conditions relevant to kitchen safety (e.g., diabetes, epilepsy).

  • Specific Consent: We process this data only with your explicit consent to ensure your physical safety during classes and to recommend suitable ingredient substitutes

1.3 Financial & Transaction Data

  • Collected When: You purchase a course or product.

  • Data Points: Order history, transaction IDs, GST numbers.

  • Security: We do not store your full credit/debit card numbers or CVV. All payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant authorized payment gateways (e.g., Razorpay, Stripe, CCAvenue). We only retain masked card details (e.g., last 4 digits) for reconciliation.

1.4 Multimedia & Content Creation Data

  • Collected When: You attend a live online class (Zoom/Teams), an in-studio workshop, or upload your own photos/videos to our platform.

  • Data Points: Audio/Video recordings of live sessions, photographs taken at physical workshops, and images of dishes you upload to the platform.

  • Usage: For quality assurance, student archives, and (with your permission) marketing content.

1.5 Technical Usage Data

  • Collected When: You access our online learning portal.

  • Data Points: IP address, device type, browser type, and course progress logs.

  • Purpose: To manage "Lifetime Access" rights and prevent unauthorized account sharing (Digital Rights Management).

2. How We Use Your Data

​We process your data for the following lawful purposes:

  1. Course Delivery: To provide access to recorded content and track your learning progress.

  2. Order Fulfilment: To ship raw materials, tools, tackles, and appliances to your doorstep.

  3. Safety & Customization: To adapt recipes and workshop environments to your dietary needs.

  4. Communication: To send course updates, delivery notifications, and (if opted-in) marketing offers.

  5. Legal Compliance: To maintain tax records (GST) and comply with legal audits.

3. "Lifetime Access" and Data Retention

To comply with the Storage Limitation principle of the DPDP Act :

  • Definition: "Lifetime Access" refers to the commercial lifetime of the specific Course. It does not imply an indefinite period or the biological lifespan of the user.

  • Retention Policy:

  1. Active Accounts: We retain your learning data as long as your account remains active.

  2. Inactive Accounts: If you do not log in for a continuous period of 5 years, we reserve the right to archive or delete your personal data. We will notify you via email before taking this action.

  3. Transaction Records: Financial records are retained for 8 years as mandated by Indian Tax Laws.

4. Live Classes and Recording Policy

We use third-party platforms (Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom) for live training.

  • Notice of Recording: Live sessions may be recorded to create learning archives for students who missed the class.

  • Your Consent: By joining a session with your camera or microphone on, you acknowledge that your image and voice may be recorded.

  • Bystander Privacy: You are responsible for ensuring your environment is private. Please ensure non-consenting family members or minors are not visible in your background. We recommend using the "Background Blur" feature

5. E-Commerce and Data Sharing

We share your data with trusted third parties to fulfill your orders. We do not sell your data to data brokers.

  • Logistics Partners: We share your Name, Address, and Phone Number with trusted third-party courier services solely to deliver your tools and appliances.8

  • Payment Gateways: Transaction data is shared securely to process payments.

  • Cloud Providers: Our learning platform is hosted on secure cloud servers which may be located within or outside India.

6. Children's Privacy (Junior Chefs)

We have strict policies regarding minors (individuals under the age of 18):

  • Online/Live Sessions: Our online and live interactive sessions are not intended for minors. We do not knowingly collect data from children for online courses.

  • In-Studio Workshops: Minors are permitted to attend offline (in-studio) workshops only under the direct guidance and supervision of a parent or guardian.

  • Parental Consent: For any in-studio participation by a minor, a parent or guardian must sign a waiver and consent form. We do not track the online behavior of minors for advertising purposes.

7. Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  1. Access: Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.

  2. Correction: Ask us to update incorrect names, addresses, or dietary info.

  3. Erasure: Request the deletion of your personal data (Right to be Forgotten), subject to our legal retention obligations.

  4. Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent for marketing or optional processing at any time.

9. Content Creation and Intellectual Property
  • User-Generated Content (UGC): If you upload photos, videos, or recipes of your cooking to our platform ("Student Content"), you retain ownership of your work. However, by uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your content on our platform for educational and marketing purposes.

  • Our Content: All course materials, videos, and recipes provided by BB Bake-n-Cook Classes are our exclusive intellectual property. Unauthorized distribution, recording, or sharing of our course content is strictly prohibited.

  • Filming in Workshops: During in-studio workshops, we may film or photograph classes for promotional use. We will clearly post notices when filming is taking place. If you do not wish to be filmed, please inform the studio manager upon arrival.
